The forum in Inglewood, CA has gone through a multi-million dollar renovation. Madison Square Garden Co. bought the forum last year for $23. 5 million from the Faithful Central Church.
MSG Co. is confident that after this renovation, the forum may be able to compete with its rival the Staples Center. The renovation will include a new paint job and an entirely new stage floor. The forum will be painted back to its original color, “California Sunset Red.” It will also be designed mainly as a music and concert venue, with the occasional sporting events.
According to the LA Times, MSG is guaranteeing the city at least $675,000 a year in taxes once the forum is up and running again. This project can be seen as a source of “community revitalization.
