The Friends of Morningside High School and 1979 Chapter of the Morningside High Monarchs Alumni Association came together recently to help clean up the campus.
Volunteers swept, washed windows, pruned rose bushes, painted, power washed, delivered and moved furniture, and installed locks and doorstops during the Sept. 20 event, which marked the fourth year for an alumni clean-up. In addition, crews removed bags of debris from the quad roof and rain gutter as well as from behind the boy’s gym.
This year’s main focus was clearing overgrowth on the school’s service road and in the track and field area. Even though the sand pits are used in competition by the track and field team, they were filled with weeds and grass.
But not anymore, thanks to the hard work of these volunteers!
